content management system - Some questions sabout Typo3 shorcut and some doubts about the page structure in the demo website -
i new in typo3 world
(i came joomla , wordpress), reading official documentation , have doubts related use of shortcuts special page
i have installed introductionpackage-6.1.1.zip package , have started related demo web site.
so open backend , go pages backend module.
ok, finding important difference can read here: http://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/gettingstartedtutorial/generalprinciples/specialpages/index.html
these difference are:
the root of website welcom typo3 , not home (as in documentation) maybe naming thing...
my root not shortcut first page (that named home , not "welcom on typo3") shortcut seems point nowhere: if show page contestual menu obtain main apache message: "it works!
this default web page server.
the web server software running no content has been added, yet."
i attach immage of see in pages module of backend after installation of typo3 on ubuntu system:
as can see have root page named welcom typo3 , not shortcut (but editing signed "standard" page) , home child of page root page , shortcut.
why? these thing normal? changed when documentation written?
during getting started code spring in venlo
last year, change page structure bit. documentation using still refers typo3 cms 4.4 introduction package
, screenshots time.
we updating manual up2date when typo3 cms 6.2 lts
released.
now page structure: root page actual page holding content. therefore named welcome typo3
. below page dummy page named home
shortcut the former page. had advantage visitors not redirected if visit home page earlier structure of 2 pages switched.
the new structure works fine. if open page (home
)from backend, redirected root shortcut destination (welcome typo3
). if redirect fails, strange setup. please check url in browser , see if matches url if frontend site.
