i had guys 'fix' self-hosted wordpress site after screwed manipulating .htcaccess file. it's working fine editor page has disappeared.
it's multisite configuration. used able access 'editor' 'network admin' under 'appearance'.
the guys 'fixed' site editor isn't available multisite, know isn't true.
any / advice appreciated!
the administrative plugin/theme editor can disabled through constant disallow_file_edit in file wp-config.php.
it comes security measure. fellow @ wordpress answers put it: editing plugin/themes way working on plane engine while it's on flight.
biggest shortcoming editor doesn't have backups. simple mistake may take site down , you'll have go through ftp disable theme/plugin, download , correct bug.
