we hear cloud based computing lot these days.
i wanted understand basic difference between web app , 1 uses cloud based (saas model say) said cloud means hosting application @ common place users, instead of 1 per user. find confusing since normal web app same. difference ?
although many times saas might sound similar webhosting , different in following aspects :
- saas application access sold using subscription
model, customers paying ongoing fee use application.
- saas provider hosts application , data centrally—deploying patches , upgrades application transparently, , delivering access end users on internet through browser or smart-client application
- and of course main difference being multitenancy the
application layer , application different each tenant based on varying levels of tenancy
