context: work @ college , wanted students involved in php , mysql development. technicians have configured systems such can’t use packages xampp, usbwebserver or server2go. have tried quickphp , works fine in environment.
my question how mysql running quickphp? i've checked notes on quickphp web vague. downloaded mysql community edition zip @ loss on next. bearing in mind cannot , nor students able install due restrictive access rights.

really, don't.
while possible use php general purpose programming language, producing websites shines. means point students installation quickphp give students opportunity test code offline , on own machines. providing access shared server let them run php in far more suitable environment , teach them lots more transferable skills. it's not hard set simple server running linux or bsd, using samba or web-dav accessing source code.
if support staff have configured machines such cannot used primary purpose (i.e. educating users computers - how work, how after them, use them , how break) there very, wrong management of institution.
not disadvantage of students - means admin of machines far cost effective.
